The 2019 Leaseweb Manassas Airshow presented by Leidos @ Manassas Regional Airport
May 4 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The 2019 Leaseweb Manassas Airshow presented by Leidos
May 4th (Rain date: May 5th)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! http://eaa186.org/manassas-airshow/

The 2019 Leaseweb Manassas Airshow presented by Leidos is a free aviation event to be held at the Manassas Regional Airport on May 4th, 2019. The airshow features both civilian and military airshow performers from around North America in aircraft ranging from warbirds and vintage airplanes to unlimited class aerobatic and modern day military marvels of engineering. This year the airshow is highlighting many of the organizations in the area that promote careers in the trades and STEM. The event runs from 10AM to 4PM.

This increasingly popular airshow features the most amazing aerobatic performances plus a wide range of aircraft displays including some of the latest planes flying.

And we get to be part of it!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! http://eaa186.org/manassas-airshow/

Static Aircraft Display: What better place to showcase your airplane than at the Manassas Airshow. During the airshow, EAA 186 Volunteers will be on hand to help assist the aircraft owners with crowd control and provide timely breaks for food, etc. Interested in displaying your aircraft, please contact Sande Miller-Long (vicepresident@eaa186.org) with your aircraft make, model and tail number before Tuesday may 1.

Pancake Breakfast and Grilled Lunch: Chapter 186 will once again support the Leaseweb Manassas AirShow by donating breakfast to the volunteers and lunch to the performers. We’ll also be selling hotdogs, burgers and pulled-pork to the public. This is a Chapter fund-raiser and many volunteers are needed including cashiers. Our pancake trailer will be parked on the ramp near the entrance by the terminal building. Look for the EAA Chapter 186 Grill and our sporty EAA 186 royal blue caps and cook aprons!

Young Eagles and EAA Membership Info Booth: As always, it’s our members who make this Chapter what it is. Your assistance and support at our info booths gives our EAA chapter more visibility and shows we are a vital contributor to the aviation community and the Manassas Regional Airport. Plus you get to view the entire airshow from a seat in the shade! Breakfast, lunch and all the water you drink — on the house!

The 2019 Joint Base Andrews Air Show
May 10 – May 12 all-day

Featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy Blue Angels, the 2019 Joint Base Andrews Air Show is scheduled for May 10-12, 2019.

This year, EAA 186 has been invited back to display at the Joint Base Andrews Air Show! It’s a great opportunity for folks to see a free, local airshow and static displays of military aviation and ground equipment. Our chapter is looking for both individuals and aircraft for the event. We basically talk the EAA talk (homebuilding, Young Eagles, Vintage Aircraft, AirVenture, etc). Having enough support allows everyone to take turns displaying our fleet, and touring the ramp. Our attendees do need to get vetted (for flightline badges) so early registration is a must. Flying into Joint Base Andrews has its own set of processes!

Let us know if you have questions or want to help. We do need people to bring out/return supplies that won’t fit in our airplanes. This includes: 20 orange traffic cones, ropes, and stakes, along with some shade booths from the chapter house. Be part of a great weekend.

If you plan to display your aircraft or volunteer for ground crew with other EAA 186 members, we need to know ASAP for VIP access. Contact Chapter President: Danny Miller

A variety of presentations from military services and other organizations will be present at the air show including the KC-135, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the UH-1N Iroquois. The air show kicks off Friday, May 10, with a full program open to the Department of Defense cardholders and special invites only. On Saturday and Sunday, May 11 to 12, JBA will open its gates to the public. Free public parking will be available at FedEx Field with shuttles taking attendees to the base from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from the base to FedEx Field until 5 p.m. No public parking will be available on Joint Base Andrews. No general admission tickets are required to see the show. Attendance is free and open to the public.
