Fly on the EAA Ford Tri-motor over DC!

In honor of our 50th Anniversary, we’ve been granted ONE trip to fly 10 of our chapter members in the EAA Ford Tri-motor over our nation’s capital, Washington DC! This once in a lifetime flight will be at an altitude at or below 1,500. The proposed VFR route will depart Manassas (KHEF), fly over Washington National Airport (KDCA) to the 9th street heliport, and reverse course back to KHEF. Date to be determined. The price for each of the 10 seats is $175. Only those members who have purchased a ticket to the 50th Anniversary Gala Banquet were eligible for this event. The names of the winners, drawn on September 14th, have been notified by email and will be published in an upcoming News Blast as well as the Stick and Rudder.

Banquet Menu

The banquet cost is $35 per person and includes: hors d’oeuvres and hosted bar during the reception and silent auction. The dinner buffet menu will include Classic Caesar Salad, Grilled Vegetable Platter, Penne A La Vodka, Rockfish with Vegetable Medley and Champagne Beurre Blanc, Carved Peppercorn Crusted Strip Steak, Roasted New Potatoes, coffee, tea and Strawberry Shortcake, a CCF signature dessert.

Entertainment

The presentation ceremony will recognize EAA Chapter 186 history, achievements over the past 50 years and future of our organization. The presentation ceremony will be followed by a fabulous guest speaker, former Chapter 186 member and record-breaking aviator, Bill Harrelson. Later on in the evening, dance music and karaoke will be provided by entertainer, musician, singer, disc-jockey and KJ — Johnny Stewart of Los Angeles.
