Featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy Blue Angels, the 2019 Joint Base Andrews Air Show is scheduled for May 10-12, 2019.

This year, EAA 186 has been invited back to display at the Joint Base Andrews Air Show! It’s a great opportunity for folks to see a free, local airshow and static displays of military aviation and ground equipment. Our chapter is looking for both individuals and aircraft for the event. We basically talk the EAA talk (homebuilding, Young Eagles, Vintage Aircraft, AirVenture, etc). Having enough support allows everyone to take turns displaying our fleet, and touring the ramp. Our attendees do need to get vetted (for flightline badges) so early registration is a must. Flying into Joint Base Andrews has its own set of processes!

Let us know if you have questions or want to help. We do need people to bring out/return supplies that won’t fit in our airplanes. This includes: 20 orange traffic cones, ropes, and stakes, along with some shade booths from the chapter house. Be part of a great weekend.

If you plan to display your aircraft or volunteer for ground crew with other EAA 186 members, we need to know ASAP for VIP access. Contact Chapter President: Danny Miller

A variety of presentations from military services and other organizations will be present at the air show including the KC-135, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the UH-1N Iroquois. The air show kicks off Friday, May 10, with a full program open to the Department of Defense cardholders and special invites only. On Saturday and Sunday, May 11 to 12, JBA will open its gates to the public. Free public parking will be available at FedEx Field with shuttles taking attendees to the base from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from the base to FedEx Field until 5 p.m. No public parking will be available on Joint Base Andrews. No general admission tickets are required to see the show. Attendance is free and open to the public.
